Luke make an interesting point about digital videos in schools. I think the ‘typical’ way of learning was the way it was is because of the available resources our primary school teachers had at the time but what is ‘typical’ for today’s teachers and students is a world filled with new media devices. The best way to teach our ’leaders of the future’ is to incorporate what they see around them whether it be cameras, computers or digital video cameras. The article Luke discusses provides us with useful insights that encourages teachers to motivate their students. Students are able to make their own connections by making videos and personal newscasts. I also think it is a great way for students to work collaboratively and reflect on each others work.
